Don Rickles Biography

 Don Rickles was an American comedian, author, actor, and stand-up comedian. He was well-known and well-respected entertainer. His quick wit, humorous remarks and genuine love for his audience made him an irresistible combination. He brought laughter, joy and entertainment to many. He was a frequent participant on the celebrity roast circuit due to his incredible talent of making an insult sound inoffensive and funny. His jokes were often hurtful and mean but he was able to make the receiver laugh. Although he started out as a typical comedian with rehearsed jokes in mind, he soon realized that his spontaneous remarks were much better than his written material. His style endeared him to many of his fans, which included the legendary Frank Sinatra. In addition to appearing in numerous television and film shows, he had also released two comedy albums. He was awarded many awards, including the "Lifetime Achievement" award at The Comedy Awards. Don Rickles was only able to land small television roles after his graduation. To earn a living, he began to perform stand-up comedy and eventually created his "insult comedian" persona. He played a key role in Clint Eastwood's 1970 hit movie Kelly's Heroes (1970). He also appeared on television comedy shows like "The Don Rickles' (1972) or "The Dean Martin Roasts" (1973). Barbara Sklar was Don Rickles his wife on the 14th of March, 1965. The couple had two kids: Mindy and Larry. Their son, Larry, died in the year 2011. Bob Newhart was Don Rickles' most beloved friend. They often went on holidays together with their wives. They had appeared together on many shows including "Newhart" and Don Rickles died from kidney failure on April 6, 2017 at his Beverly Hills, California, home.
