Briga Heelan
Heelan was born in Andover (Massachusetts) to Kimball Heelan, actress and Lowell Public Schools teacher, and Kevin Heelan playwright. Conor is her older brother. His father is a professional dramatist who has been an instructor at the Phillips Andover Academy teacher since 1983. Heelan was a student at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts, and then spent an entire year at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Heelan moved to the University of Southern California. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009. When she graduated, Heelan received the James B. Pendleton Award for outstanding contribution to the USC School of Dramatic Arts. Heelan determined to focus her attention on musical theatre. Skylar Astin who was her Ground Floor co-star was met by Heelan at a musical theatre convention. Cougar Town was Heelan's debut TV role. She was credited as an unrepeatable character on Undateable, appearing in three episodes and the pilot. Because both Bill Lawrence's Ground Floor as well as Undateable were multi-camera comedy shows, they were able to be shot simultaneously. She also starred in the pilot episode of Season 10. Alan Sepinwall, TV critic who was a critic for the show, stated that Heelan was "simply wonderful as Jenny charming and quirky, yet strong and confident." According to the Los Angeles Times Heelan creates Ground Floor "watchable". They claim that she is "remarkably alive" and "in the moment; she creates a real-life experience for everything she touches." I suggest you watch her work. And I'm recommending that you do.
