Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American television chef and host. Burrell was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals concise easy-to-master techniques to cook at home on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell worked in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine tradition and its environment. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Early on, while living in the New York's upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. Following her graduation with an English and Communication degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the industry of restaurants by registering at The Culinary Institute of America. I loved every minute of being a student of The Culinary Institute of America she declares. I was unable to learn enough, didn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. After graduating of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and chef Burrell took a full year in Italy learning and working in La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star in Tuscany. She gained a deeper knowledge of Italian culture and cuisine throughout her time in Italy that has informed her cooking style. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to enhance the lives of children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity ambassador, and is a vocal advocate for awareness of children's diabetes. as a speaker, guest and teacher, she travels around the U.S. to share her culinary passion and professional career. Anne has always been grateful she had the opportunity to share her love of cooking with others.
