Rashida Jones

Rashida Jones was born in Los Angeles, California to Quincy Jones, a media producer and mogul, and Peggy Lipton, Rashida is the younger sister of actress Peggy Lipton and Quincy Jones. Her older sister is Kidada Jones, as well as five half-siblings through the other relationships her father has with his children. Her father is African-American, and her mother Ashkenazi Jewish (a descendant from the emigrants who emigrated to Russia as well as Latvia). Rashida was raised in Reform Judaism. She was raised in Bel Air Los Angeles, California. Jones said that Jones' parents were mixed race and did not suit her in the 1970s. Jones made her professional acting debut with The Last Don in 1997 the mini-series based on Mario Puzo. Also in 1997, Rashida graduated from Harvard University. Rashida's dad is African-American as well as having smaller amounts of English, Scottish, and Welsh ancestral family ancestry (some of his African family members were descendants of the Tikar people from Cameroon). Rashida is Ashkenazi Jewish, of Russian Jewish and Latvian Jewish descent. Her maternal grandparents, who were both from South Carolina, and Mississippi, were the paternal grandparents of her father. Her maternal grandfather was born in New York, and her maternal grandmother was born in Dublin, Ireland, of Eastern European Jewish origin. In the year 2009, she had played three different characters in the show, including "Karen" in the classic sitcoms on television: Freaks and Geeks (1999), Stella ((2005) and The Office ((2005)).
