Rosamund Pike

In 1979, in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike is the sole child of a classical violinist mother, Caroline (Friend), as well as an opera singer father, Julian Pike. Both parents were extremely hard-working and she travelled extensively throughout Europe in her early years. Pike went to Bristol's Badminton School and started acting at the National Youth Theatre. Pike first made an appearance in a National Youth Theatre production "Romeo and Juliet". She was signed by an agent following being observed. Pike also began acting at the National Youth Theatre. Although her first film was a huge-budget action film, her involvement was mostly in smaller independent films such as Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). She was awarded the Best Supporting Actress Award at The British Independent Film Awards for the film. Pride & Prejudice (2005) was her first film. After a brief time in Hollywood, Doom (2005) and Fracture (2006) followed. She returned to film with outstanding performances in three of the smaller films. She was also in Johnny English Reborn (2011) as well as the sci-fi thriller Wrath of the Titans (2012). With Tom Cruise as her female leading character in Jack Reacher (2012), she returned to action movies.
