Gillian MacLaren Jacobs

Gillian MacLaren Jacobs, born on the 19th of October, 1982 is an American actor from the United States. Her most famous work is her role as Britta Perry on the NBC comedy series Community (2009-2015), Mickey Dobbs on the Netflix romantic comedy series Love (2016-2018) as well as Atom Eve on the Amazon animated series Invincible (2021). She was a regular as Mimi-Rose Howard in the fourth season of the HBO comedy-drama series Girls (2012-2017) and has been in films such as Life Partners (2014), Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (2015), Don't Think Twice (2016), Brother Nature (2016), Life of the Party (2018), Ibiza (2018), I Used to Go Here (2020) and the Fear Street trilogy (2021). Gillian MacLaren Jacobs was conceived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 19th, 1982. Her mother, Martina Magenau Jacobs, is a member of the alumni relations department at Carnegie Mellon University, while her father, William F. Jacobs Jr., was an investment banker. The death of her father occurred in the year 2013. Her mother raised her in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Her family owned the Erie Brewing Company (not to be confused with the later brewery that bears the same name) which was where her grandfather, John Martin Magenau Jr., served as President and CEO until the company closed in 1978.Jacobs began her studies in acting at age four and also attended acting classes on weekends at the Pittsburgh Playhouse while growing up. She was often a performer at the Pittsburgh Public Theater. There she was a winner of the Public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest. That was the catalyst for her participation in Titania in their production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Mt. in 2000, she was able to graduate from Lebanon High School. Then she moved to New York City for the Juilliard School. There, she graduated with a BFA degree in 2004.
