Jennifer Carpenter Bio

American actress Jennifer Leann Carpenter was born on December 7th 1979. She is most well-known for her character Debra Morgan on Showtime's Dexter. In 2009, she was awarded the Saturn Award. Also, she was recognized for playing Rebecca Harris on CBS's Limitless. In 2019, she began playing Erica Shepherd, the lead role in the NBC drama The Enemy Within. Carpenter was first acknowledged for her role as Emily Rose in The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Carpenter won the 2006 MTV Movie Award in "Best Frightened Actress" and also received a Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award. She was also named Breakout Performer at the 2006 Scream Awards. In 2007, she began dating her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall. They were married in 2008, after which they relocated to California. Hall and Carpenter released a joint statement in December 2010 announcing their split. However, they remain close to each other. Carpenter and Seth Avett announced their engagement on February 10, 2015. Carpenter was 8-and-a half months pregnant at the time she appeared on Limitless the pilot episode. Carpenter and Avett were married in May of 2016.
